The Ice Cream Place

The Ice Cream Place is the original ice cream shop located on the tiny summer escape of Block Island. The shop opened in the late 70's, but when the new owner purchased the shop in 2021, it was time for a rebrand.
Wavy Grape created the new brand by capturing pieces of the original logo, like the ice cream kid, and combined it with new typography, color palette, and icons. We also created over 200 ice cream flavor signs, sundae signs, social media content, signage, temporary tattoos, merch, and so much more. To date, this is one of the largest projects we've completed, mainly because you can't have enough ice cream and homemade hot fudge.

Memorable design moves.
The Ice Cream Place assigned us over 200 ice cream flavor signs to design for their full flavor rotation. Each sign is unique with its own typography, color scheme, and icons. While these are unbranded, they are meant to stand on their own and reflect the flavor entirely, they are truly delectable. No limits or rules here!

Born in Rhode Island, Abby has been visiting Block Island since she was born. Memories of visiting The Ice Cream Place as a child and devouring the homemade fudge make this a full circle moment when she was hired to redesign this beloved brand. She even had her bachelorette party on the island in 2022 (and of course got some ice cream).
I worked with Abby to redesign a 40 year old logo for an Ice cream shop I purchased. I wanted to stay true to the history but also put a little modern spin on it. Abby NAILED it! She also redesigned my flavor signs, sundae signs and menu board. She is professional, very talented, so responsive and a pleasure to work with. I have recommended her to anyone that needs branding or graphic designs. She is the best!!
